Genesys Sponsors LPGA Rookie Yujeong Son

Cloud customer experience leader grows sports sponsorship roster with addition of golfing phenom

SAN FRANCISCO — March 12, 2019 – Genesys®, the global leader in cloud customer experience and contact center solutions, announced a one-year sponsorship for Ladies Professional Golf Association (LPGA) member, Yujeong Son. The 19-year old rising golf star will sport the Genesys logo during her first LPGA tour, which kicks-off at the Volvik Founders Cup in Phoenix, Arizona on March 19.

“We’re proud to connect with the global golf community by sponsoring Yujeong Son as she makes her debut this season on the LPGA tour. Her incredible skill, determination and poise make her a tremendous brand ambassador and a role model for young female athletes,” said Keith Pearce, senior vice president of brand marketing and communications at Genesys. “At work, in the community and even on the greens, we aim to be an ally for women and support them in their goals. Sponsoring Yujeong Son is one way we can do this, and Genesys is excited to welcome her to our family.”

While forging an aggressive path forward with cloud-first customer experience innovation, Genesys is placing its bets on fresh talents who have the drive to push boundaries and succeed in a competitive arena. The new sponsorship with Yujeong Son marks the company’s second with a sports figure since Genesys signed IndyCar driver, James Hinchcliffe, in January. Through these sponsorships, Genesys is partnering with athletes who share its same passion for delivering impactful experiences to fans and consumers alike.

“I am honored to be the first professional golfer sponsored by Genesys, a market leader with great trust from many global companies. With their support behind me in my first tournament season, I am confident I will give LPGA fans an incredible experience,” said Yujeong Son.

Yujeong Son passed the LPGA Tour 2020 Qualifying Series last October. With several golf championships titles, she is regarded as a promising figure in the professional golf community. In 2019, she played on the Symetra Tour, which is the second tier of the LPGA tour, where she finished second twice and four times in the top five. In addition, Yujeong Son has won major 23 events during her junior career, including the Rolex Girls Junior Championship, the 2018 Oklahoma Junior Girls Championship, the 2017 Swinging Skirts Invitational of the American Junior Golf Association (AJGA), the 2014 Women’s Oklahoma State Amateur Championship and the 2013 U.S. Kids World Cup.
