Tony Bates is the Chairman and Chief Executive Officer of Genesys. Since 2019, he has set the company’s vision and strategy while leading a global team of more than 6,000 employees. He has decades of executive experience leading global enterprises through major market transitions. Tony’s previous leadership roles include CEO of Growth at Sequoia Capital, President of GoPro, and CEO at Skype. Following Skype’s acquisition by Microsoft, he transitioned into an Executive Vice President role at Microsoft. He also spent more than a decade at Cisco, where he served as Senior Vice President and General Manager. In addition to these roles, he has served on the boards of VMware, eBay, and SiriusXM. He is currently a board member of Okta and leads the Technology, Media, and Telecommunications Task Force of the Sustainable Markets Initiative.
