In March 2018, Genesys released a new unified AppFoundry solutions marketplace that covers all Genesys Cloud CX™, PureConnect™ and Genesys Multicloud CX™ products. The new AppFoundry was built from the ground up, leveraging the same industry-leading architecture and innovation of Genesys Cloud CX microservices for unlimited scale and resiliency. Around that same time, the Genesys Cloud CX framework, Premium Applications, was released. It enabled you to purchase third-party integrations and add-ons from Genesys from within the AppFoundry Marketplace. Purchased Premium Applications are invoiced as a part of monthly Genesys Cloud CX subscription fees as a separate line item.
Adoption of Premium Applications from Genesys have been very popular with Genesys Cloud CX customers since the program’s inception. In fact, AppFoundry vendors of Premium Applications have been deployed in roughly 20% of the Genesys Cloud CX customer base. Premium Applications are designed to accelerate time-to-implement to deliver optimal speed-to-value. And Premium Applications are fully integrated into the Genesys Cloud CX Billing and Subscription systems.
Usage of Premium Applications is tabulated and reported using the same tooling as native Genesys Cloud CX offerings. Since the program’s release, Premium Applications were required to remove friction points for customers via automation of repeatable setup tasks. From the point of subscription, deployment times are measured in minutes.
As the Product Manager of AppFoundry and Premium Applications, I strive to build software that delivers great functionality and eliminates friction points. In August, the AppFoundry team quietly released a free trial capability for Premium Applications. Direct Genesys Cloud CX customers are treated to a hassle-free experience in which they can click-to-try any available Premium Applications for 30 days. During the 30-day, hassle-free trial period, customers can cancel at any time — as quickly as they initiated the trial. If it’s not canceled before the trial is complete, customers are billed for usage at advertised “no contract” pricing.
Indirect customers — those purchasing via Genesys Reseller — can take advantage of a free trial. However, they need to contact their reseller to initiate the trial. The AppFoundry team is targeting to deliver the same hassle-free experience to indirect customers in Q4 2019. For more details, check out our Resource Center.
