Today’s world is full of uncertainty — geopolitical tensions, climate disruption, economic shifts. How a company responds in these moments reveals the depth of its values and vision. At Genesys, we believe sustainability isn’t just a goal — it’s a responsibility. It’s one that demands action in every region we serve and in every innovation we deliver.

For Genesys, sustainability is empathy in action.

It means designing solutions that reduce environmental impact while elevating human potential. And it means aligning business performance with community impact — whether we’re helping customers reduce their carbon footprints, earning top scores for inclusion, expanding access through charitable discount programmes or advancing employee-led volunteerism initiatives.

These values aren’t abstract ideals. They’re the engine behind how we show up for people and the planet. Through our values of “Go Big,” “Embrace Empathy” and “Fly in Formation,” we unite cross-functional teams, elevate our social impact and innovate with purpose.

In this article, we’ll highlight the many ways Genesys continues to take meaningful action — because we believe building a sustainable future isn’t optional. It’s essential. And it’s something we commit to every day through the choices we make.

Embrace Empathy: Leading with Heart, Acting with Purpose

At Genesys, empathy isn’t just a guiding principle; it’s the heart of how we build, lead and give back. This approach to sustainability is grounded in the belief that innovation must serve people and the planet if we want both to thrive. That’s why we take action that centres on both human wellbeing and environmental responsibility.
We set an ambitious goal to achieve by 2030: Power 80 million meaningful conversations among charities and people in need. We’re proud to report that we’ve reached 16 million during fiscal years 2024 and 2025.

These aren’t just numbers — they’re real moments of support, comfort and connection made possible by Genesys technology. Organisations like The Trevor Project and Refuge use the Genesys Cloud™ platform to deliver life-saving services faster and more effectively.

Our employees also put empathy into motion. In FY’25, they logged over 11,000 volunteer hours — a 134% increase from the previous year. Whether we were planting trees in Toronto, maintaining park trails in Raleigh, North Carolina, or making seed balls for reforestation efforts in Bengaluru, India, our global teams are showing up for their communities.

Inclusion is another key pillar of empathy at Genesys. In FY’25, we ranked in the top 10% of tech companies for employees feeling valued — a reflection of a culture that celebrates belonging and inclusion. From our global inclusion groups to adding new initiatives like Genesys Veterans, we’re fostering a workplace where everyone has the chance to contribute and grow.

To embrace empathy is to recognise that sustainability is more than metrics. It’s about putting people first, inside and outside the company, and doing our part to build a better future. It’s more than aspiration; it’s what we practise every day.

Fly in Formation: Advancing Together, Aligned by Purpose

At Genesys, we believe that we unlock our greatest potential when teams are aligned by values, supported by purpose and empowered to grow. This is what we call “Flying in Formation.” It’s not just a catchy phrase; it’s how we build a workplace where people feel valued, connected and motivated to make a difference.

Only employees can truly define culture. In FY’25, their voices helped us earn recognition as a Certified Great Place to Work® in 14 countries and land on several global Best Places to Work lists. With an employee engagement score of 8.4, Genesys places in the top 25% of more than 300 peer tech companies. That says something important about how we lead, listen and evolve.

Our commitment to career development is just as strong. Last year, we expanded access to in-person “Collaborate Sessions,” and launched new virtual resources, including Workday Learning, a peer mentorship programme and GROW10. This offers dedicated time for employees to pursue personal growth and learning goals.

To do this, we’re building flexible career paths, supporting veterans and underrepresented communities, or simply empowering employees to bring their best every day — our collective success is rooted in shared momentum.

Go Big: Bold Innovation, Responsible Building

At Genesys, “Going Big” means more than setting ambitious goals or developing cutting-edge technology. It’s about scaling innovation in ways that serve customers, partners and communities. That includes technology that reduces their emissions, providing them with resilience, security and privacy.

This is how we go big to meet their needs. We believe bold ideas should come with built-in responsibility to planet Earth, too. That’s why we design our solutions to be as sustainable as they are impactful.

This past year, we made major strides across product offerings and environmental commitments. We launched a suite of new artificial intelligence (AI) capabilities, including Genesys Cloud Virtual Agent, Agent Copilot, Supervisor Copilot and Virtual Supervisor. Each of these was built to enable businesses to provide a better customer experience – and orchestrate those experiences – with greater intelligence, speed and scale.

In June 2025, we introduced Genesys Cloud™ AI Studio, featuring Genesys Cloud AI Guides and Custom Conversation Summaries. This is a major step into agentic AI, where systems evolve from task-based execution to semi-autonomous problem-solving.

But access to innovation shouldn’t be reserved for the few. Through our Charitable Discount Programme, dozens of nonprofit organisations now have access to these same powerful tools. In this way, we’re extending the reach of empathetic, cloud-powered experiences to those who need them most.

Going big also means reducing our own environmental impact. In FY’25, we reduced greenhouse gas emissions by 13% organically and maintained carbon neutrality in Genesys Cloud operations. This commitment to sustainable design helped us earn LEED Platinum certification for our Budapest R&D Centre and Gold certification for our Manila office.

When businesses choose Genesys, they’re not just investing in performance, they’re choosing a partner that shares their values. By helping businesses reduce their carbon footprint or building products that empower people, we’re going big in all the right ways: with purpose, impact and integrity.

Looking Ahead: Purpose in Every Step

At Genesys, we don’t see sustainability as a side effort. It’s a core part of how we think, design and act every day for long-term progress.

What also matters is how we show up and consistently support people and the planet. That commitment is built into our products, reflected in our culture and carried forward by the performance of our teams around the world.

If you’re looking to work with a company that’s serious about delivering meaningful impact — for its customers, employees and global communities — you’ll find that ethos here. It’s not in lofty promises, but instead it’s in meaningful and measurable actions.

We know this work is a journey, and we’re ready for it. Because when sustainability is rooted in empathy, aligned with purpose and backed by results, it’s not just good business. It’s the kind of business that helps move everyone forward.
