It is usually expressed as a percentage and includes time spent on calls, chats, or emails – plus any after-interaction work – divided by the total time an agent is logged in and available for work.

For example, if an agent is available for 60 minutes and spends 45 minutes actively engaged, their occupancy rate is 75%.
