Genesys CEO Paul Segre Named Finalist for the 2014 Ernst & Young’s Entrepreneur of the Year Award

DALY CITY, CA — May 13, 2014 — Genesys (www.genesys.com), a leading provider of customer experience and contact center solutions, today announced that Genesys President and CEO, Paul Segre, has been named a finalist for Ernst & Young’s Entrepreneur of the Year Award in Northern California.
The Ernst & Young Entrepreneur of the Year(™) 2014 awards program recognizes entrepreneurs who demonstrate excellence and extraordinary success in such areas as innovation, financial performance and personal commitment to their businesses and communities. These business leaders were selected from more than 100 nominations by a panel of independent judges. Award winners will be announced at a special gala on Tuesday, June 10th at The Fairmont San Jose.

Since becoming President and CEO at Genesys in 2007, Segre he has led the company to consistent yearly double-digit growth, including record revenues of more than $610 million in 2012, followed by over 20% revenue growth in 2013. Segre joined Genesys in 2002 as chief technology officer with responsibility for product management and engineering. In 2004, he became chief operating officer with responsibility for sales, service, and support. From 2002 to 2011, Paul held a variety of executive management roles at Alcatel-Lucent, including president of the Applications Group, which included Genesys. During this time, he led a worldwide team and grew revenues to more than $2.9 billion. Prior to Genesys, Paul held senior positions at DSC, Bell Labs, and AT&T Network Systems in strategy, business development, and operations support systems development. He holds a bachelor's degree in mathematical sciences and a master's degree in operations research from Stanford University.
