Genesys Appoints New Chief Marketing Officer
New position consolidates Product Strategy and Marketing to drive customer focus and innovation
SAN FRANCISCO – February 24, 2016 — Genesys (www.genesys.com), the market leader in omnichannel customer experience (CX) and contact center solutions, today announced that Executive Vice President of Product Strategy, Merijn te Booij has been appointed its Chief Marketing Officer.
In this new position, te Booij will be responsible for accelerating the company’s digital marketing efforts, brand and product strategy. Since 2000, te Booij has been instrumental in setting the company vision, establishing its Business Consulting practice, and solidifying its market leadership. This new role combines Marketing and Product Strategy and is part of a sustained organizational strategy to enhance customer focus and innovation. For example, all customer facing organizations were recently consolidated under Genesys President Tom Eggemeier, and David Sudbey was appointed the company’s first Chief Customer Officer.

Drawing on background of over 20 years in the industry, te Booij, a self-described ‘customer service junkie’, combines hands-on contact center experience with Genesys executive leadership positions. At Dutch travel company ANWB, te Booij managed customer service operations, and later he ran the Genesys Workforce Optimization team in Europe before being promoted to a series of executive positions in the United States. He holds a law degree from Utrecht University in the Netherlands.
