Unleashing the Power of Great Customer Experience in Our Communities

“Living Customer Experience every day means serving communities and causes that give employees the opportunity to literally ‘Make A Difference’ in the world. This isn’t a slogan or corporate platitude, but rather a core Genesys value that we put into action every day.”

Cancer Research UK

Cancer Research UK

To honor friends, family and colleagues who had been touched by cancer, nine employees in our Frimley office set out to conquer three mountain peaks in 24 hours as a fundraiser for Cancer Research UK.   In the end, they persevered through rain and fog, did four peaks in 27 hours and raised GBP £10,000 (USD $16,000).

Raphael House

Raphael House

Since 1971, Raphael House has been at the forefront of providing homeless and low-income families in the San Francisco Bay Area the personalized family-centered solutions they need to build brighter futures. More than 85% of all Raphael House families go on to achieve long-term housing and financial stability.

Genesys supports Raphael House through its Corporate and Community Chefs program. Once a quarter Genesys employees join the Raphael House chefs to cook and serve dinner for their families. In addition, Genesys is an annual sponsor of Raphael House’s Annual Gala.

“Raphael House provides such important service to our Bay Area community and it’s a rewarding experience every time a group of Genesys volunteers takes the time to help the onsite team prep, cook and serve meals. Raphael House provides a stable environment which helps at-risk families break the cycle of poverty and provides endless opportunities for the children we service. We consider every resident a customer; we provide them with the tools to succeed. I am very proud to have been involved with this organization for over 20 years.”

Silicon Valley Tour de Cure

Silicon Valley Tour de Cure

The American Diabetes Association is the leading U.S. non-profit charity fighting against diabetes that has been diagnosed in nearly 26 million children and adults across the country. Its mission is to prevent and cure diabetes and to improve the lives of all people affected by diabetes.

The annual Tour de Cure bicycle rides held in 44 states are one of the association’s major fundraising efforts. For eight years, Genesys has shown its commitment to this cause with a team of our passionate bicyclists participating in the Silicon Valley Tour de Cure ride.

“We’re proud to join the teams from other leading companies in support of a cure for diabetes. Our employees have a lot of practice going the extra mile for our customers and community, and they are showing one more way through the Tour de Cure that we can all make a difference.”

SMART (Schools Mentoring & Resource Team)

SMART (Schools Mentoring & Resource Team)

San Francisco-based SMART partners with private schools and the community to equip highly motivated, financially disadvantaged students with the academic support, social experiences and confidence they need to attend the college of their dreams. Offering an eight-year continuum of support to students in 5th through 12th grades, SMART's vision is that all students, regardless of their socio-economic backgrounds, have equal access to a high-quality education, and receive the support needed to reach their full potential.

Genesys volunteers can participate in many ways, some of which include:

  • Becoming a tutor by spending one evening a week during the academic year assisting students with course work
  • Becoming a mentor by doing fun activities year round with a student (enjoying a meal, going to museums, going to the movies, playing sports, etc.)
  • Participating in the Annual SMART Career Conference, which provides students with resume help, career guidance and introductions to different career fields
  • Becoming a Job Shadow Host, by providing students with a first-hand view of a typical day in your job
  • Volunteering as a Field Trip Chaperone, accompanying students on a host of field trips throughout the year

“At Genesys, we believe that a strong educational foundation is essential for living productive and fulfilling lives. Since its founding, SMART has provided hundreds of economically-disadvantanged students with the opportunity to receive a great education that has forever changed their lives and in many cases, helped end the cycle of poverty in their families. I'm excited to have the Genesys family share in what has been an incredibly rewarding experience for me.”

Sebastian’s Action Trust

Sebastian’s Action Trust

Sebastian’s Action Trust has created the UK's only purpose-built facility that offers holidays to very sick children and their families, enabling precious time to be spent together.  It also gives practical support to children battling with life-limiting illnesses and provides meaningful assistance at critical times to families exhausted by the stress of hospital life and their child’s grueling treatment.

Since 2011, the Genesys Make a Difference UK program has been supporting Sebastian’s Action Trust by participating in their annual seven-mile charitable walk, "The Crown and Tiara Walk," that takes participants on picturesque routes through Windsor Great Park and the Crown Estate in Royal Windsor.

Since 2012 Make a Difference has also been participating in the Sebastian’s Action Trust Christmas raffle, which is always successful among the Genesys employees.

“Giving to somebody else is special and priceless to that person when it comes from your heart; it makes people smile and be grateful and it always makes you feel happy from within. Participants after the ‘The Crown and Tiara Walk’ and the contribution of Make a Difference to this charity, told me that they are proud to be part of an organisation who cares about others.”

Habitat for Humanity

Habitat for Humanity

Habitat for Humanity has the vision of a world where everyone has a decent place to live. It builds and repairs houses all over the world using volunteer labor and donations.

Genesys makes a difference in the community by volunteering every year with Habitat for Humanity, helping them build low-income houses in the greater San Francisco area.

“The role of Habitat for Humanity in improving the living situation and the lives of people in our community is especially important in this era of inequality and gentrification of the San Francisco area. It really makes a difference for the new home owners, who could never have afforded a house near their workplace otherwise. I am very happy to contribute and to see Genesys contribute to this effort. In addition, it’s a lot of fun and has allowed me and other Genesys employees participating in this program to know each other better and work as a team.”

UK Breast Cancer Campaign

UK Breast Cancer Campaign

Wear it pink is a nationally recognized fundraising event for the UK Breast Cancer Campaign, bringing in approximately 2 million pounds annually.

This is a very successful event that Genesys employees join in by wearing pink on the day and making donations. Employees in our Frimley office wear everything from pink socks to head-to-toe pink; they feel they are contributing in a great cause while having some fun and making people aware of Breast Cancer in the UK.

“This campaign brings Genesys employees together from various disciplines in the business in solidarity to do our small part in raising breast cancer awareness. By wearing pink in the office, sharing a few laughs and smiles — and appreciating what we have, the Genesys community comes together to show that we can be bigger than cancer.”

March of Dimes

March of Dimes

Every day, thousands of babies are born too soon, too small and often very sick. The mission of the March of Dimes is to improve the health of babies by preventing birth defects, premature birth and infant mortality. Funds raised in March for Babies support research and programs that help moms have full-term pregnancies and babies begin healthy lives.

Genesys participates in the annual March for Babies in San Francisco with teams of walkers who raise funds and the purchase of a corporate booth.

“There is so much passion and heart from our Genesys employees. It’s been an honor and pleasure to watch Team Genesys come together to support the March of Dimes. To represent Genesys at the SF March for Babies walk and watching our team grow along with fundraising efforts is humbling and such a privilege.”

SF - Marin Food Bank / North Peninsula Food Pantry

SF - Marin Food Bank / North Peninsula Food Pantry

The mission of the SF-Marin Food Bank is to end hunger in San Francisco and Marin County.  This vital lifeline distributes 105,000 meals worth of food every day.

The North Peninsula Food Pantry & Dining Center of Daly City provides nutrition and sustenance to anyone in need.  The Food Pantry provides a three days’ supply of non-perishable food and the dining center serves hot dinners three days a week.

Genesys volunteers help each of these programs fulfill its mission.  As part of their onboarding process, new employees in the Daly City office are invited to join our quarterly visit to the Food Bank.  We also make a quarterly visit to help serve dinner at the North Peninsula Dining Center.

“At Genesys, we encourage our employees to give back to their local communities. That’s why part of our new hire orientation in many locations involves a charitable activity. In our Daly City office, all of our new team members are invited to visit the North Peninsula Food Pantry & Dining Center to prepare and serve those in need. It’s a great introduction to our values and an enriching way to help those in need in our local community."

“No one should go hungry.”
